The course consists of 8 modules and is set out to be completed over 8 weeks. However, the course is flexible, so if you wish to complete it sooner you will be able to.

Each module features a video instructional by Daisy. There is also a workbook that you need to complete at the end of each video. This can be printed out or completed digitally. At the end of each workbook there is a task relating to the subject Daisy is discussing. There are also lecture slides available to read back through and a short quiz to test your knowledge at the end.

Below you will find a deep dive on everything you will learn through the course to become a proposal planner!

Module one:

Module one is an introduction to proposal and romantic event planning. Firstly, Daisy will give you a snapshot into the industry and the life of working at The Proposers, her proposal planning company. She will then give an overview of the difference between wedding and proposal or romantic event planning. You will then have an insider opportunity to watch a video about the day in the life of a planner at The Proposers. Once you have completed the learning module your workbook to complete will be on the subject of researching your area to understand what offers you can lead with and what the market is like. There will also be a fun task that will allow you to delve into your creative side with guidance.

Module 2:

The second module takes a deep dive into your potential clients. Arguably this can be considered the most important module, without your clients you would have no business. Making sure you understand your clients is a must and Daisy will give you insight into her client knowledge after completing over 5000 successful events. You will then learn about the different types of clients ranging from the time waster, the know-it-all to the creative client.. From the high net worth to the package clients who want something more affordable. You will also gain further insight into venue supplier knowledge and also the proposal traditions in different religions. In the workbook there will then be the chance to do your own research into this and look into your local venues based on the clients wants.

Module 3:

The third module will take you through the entire process of planning a proposal or romantic event from start to finish. Daisy will take you through the stages and the percentage of time you can anticipate to spend on each stage. She will explain the initial engagement, consultation & concepts, suppliers & quotes, invoice & contracts, plans & job sheets, on the day coordination and aftercare. You will then have the opportunity to create your own consultation form and even get an insider peak into the questions The Proposers ask.

Module 4:

Once you have reached the fourth module you are halfway to becoming a proposal and romantic event planner. This module focuses on the design, it's not only super fun, but you also get to learn all the tips and tricks of the trade. You will learn the importance of personalisation, understanding where to get inspiration from, how to create a wow factor mood board and how to present to clients and how to create never-been-seen-before ideas. Daisy will also run you through what key items to purchase that can be used at every event, how to bring your vision to life on the event day. At the end of this module, you will be given the opportunity to create a proposal idea based on an intriguing brief.

Module 5:

The fifth module covers finance. This may be less glamorous but of course an essential part of any business. Keeping track of your finances is key to running a business and Daisy runs you through all of her top tips. Such as how much you should charge, how to upsell, quotes & invoices, supplier costs, budget management, client’s personal details and accepting payment. You will then complete a task that will give you the opportunity to create your first quote.

Module 6:

After learning all about finance, in the sixth module Daisy details how much it will cost you to run your own business. How to research and review your business name, making it legal, assets to purchase and branding. You will then have the opportunity to create your own SWOT analysis.

Module 7:

The seventh module will take you on a deep dive into marketing. It will help you understand your target audience. Daisy will break this down for you by looking into age, location, and disposable income. She will then discuss all the ways to reach these potential clients. She will run you through content creation, websites & blogging, understanding the difference between PPC and natural listings, social media, networking, and press. You will also have the opportunity to create your own blog post.

Module 8:

Once you get to the eighth module you are one step away from becoming a pro at proposals and romantic events! In this module Daisy teaches you the next stage of developing your wonderful business. She tackles international event planning, customer relationship management and building partnerships. You will then be left with one final task of putting your business proposal to life.
